The liver does not push waste out of the body. It releases into the bile ducts and then into the gut, which means the colon is the exit. When transit is slow and the colon is saturated, what the liver releases does not leave. It is reabsorbed, and the work is undone. That single mechanism sets the order of everything below: open the exit first, then move upstream to the liver.

IKIGEN is the complete bionobo detox protocol built on that order. It runs in three phases: mineral balance and movement, a deep intestinal clean with the re:set kit, then bile flow and liver filtration with the be:liver kit. This guide covers why the order matters, where to start, what each product does, and what to expect while you are in it.

Your body speaks through the senses, and every cell carries a signal

The human body is not isolated and neither are its organs. Studying them separately has taught us a great deal about how the organism works, but it does not show how the systems behave together. At bionobo we read the body the way many ancestral cultures and traditional medicines have read it for thousands of years, as one connected whole.

It is not only organs, tissues and biochemical reactions. It is, above all, an electrical system in constant communication. Every cell transmits information. Every organ sends and receives signals. Every process depends on a fine balance of charges, impulses and flows.

What the West calls the nervous system was understood far more broadly thousands of years ago. Traditional Chinese medicine describes a network of energy meridians. Ayurveda, the traditional medicine of India, describes currents of prana that sustain life, and energy centres. These are different languages for the same reality. The body works as an interconnected network of energy, information and matter, and it speaks to you through the senses. Connect with that innate intelligence, which expresses itself through what you feel.

The drainage funnel runs from your cells down to the colon, in one direction

The body does not eliminate at random. It follows an order, and the waste travels down a funnel with a single exit.

  1. Cells release what they have stored.
  2. Organs and tissues process it.
  3. The lymphatic system carries it.
  4. The bile ducts and the liver filter it.
  5. The colon carries it out of the body.

The most common mistake is trying to detox the liver before preparing the colon and bowel movement. The liver does not eliminate outwards. It depends on the gut. If the colon is saturated, what the liver releases is reabsorbed and the process loses its effect. We built this protocol on that principle.

Three starting points decide which bionobo tools you use first

Not every body starts in the same place. Find yourself in one of these three.

If you have never detoxed, regulate transit and start elimination

Your aim is to prepare the ground: regulate transit, activate elimination. The base tools are alcalina, shilajit, nutrizyme and kiwami. Start with the beginners' detox guide, make conscious changes to how you eat and how you rest, then write a simple plan and begin today.

If your transit already moves, go deeper with the re:set kit

Your aim is to go deeper. The system already responds, you have a plan, and you have time to slow down and detox. The tools at this stage are kiwami and the re:set kit. Read the re:set protocol guide, set aside time before the protocol, and set aside time for the integration days afterwards.

If your drainage routes are open, release the liver with the be:liver kit

Your aim is to release. The gut is clear, so this is the point at which bile flow and the liver are mobilised. The tools are the be:liver kit and kiwami. Expect a physical and emotional release. This is the final part of the protocol, so again, set aside time for the days afterwards.

The IKIGEN protocol runs in three phases, in this order

IKIGEN rests on three pillars that follow the body's own sequence.

Phase 1 activates movement and restores your mineral balance

The aim is to become aware of the body and prepare it for its natural detox processes.

  • Eat clean food with a high nutrient density.
  • Take fulvic minerals daily, either alcalina or shilajit.
  • Optional: add kiwami enzymes alongside them.
  • Add natural probiotics such as kefir, kimchi and sauerkraut, plus cold-pressed juices.
  • Watch for changes in energy, digestion and mental clarity.

Phase 2 clears your gut in 24 hours with the re:set kit

The aim is a deeper digestive clean, once the body has regained movement and you are more aware of what you eat.

  • This is the moment to run re:set, our 24 hour intestinal cleanse.
  • Fermented koso enzymes and the other ingredients help mobilise waste built up in the digestive system.
  • This phase releases, and it prepares the body for phase 3.

Phase 3 supports bile flow and liver filtration with the be:liver kit

The aim is to complete the detox by supporting the liver's natural filtration and making room for the body to regenerate, using the advanced be:liver kit.

  • It supports bile and energy flow, helping mobilise accumulated waste.
  • Working on one of the body's main filtration systems can bring an emotional and metabolic release with it.
  • It closes the detox process so the body can recover its natural self-regulation.

Six bionobo tools carry the protocol, and each one has a job

Alcalina delivers fulvic biominerals daily, ten drops in 200 ml of water

Our gentlest formula, with no taste, made for daily use. It rehydrates, remineralises and supports the body's cleaning systems steadily over time. It suits you if you are starting out, or if you want to keep cellular detox going continuously. No noticeable taste, and easy to use in drops. See alcalina.

Shilajit golden grade works on energy, mitochondria and hormonal restoration

A deeper, more intense version from the Himalayas, rich in natural humates and rare trace minerals. It acts on day to day energy, mitochondrial energy and hormonal restoration. It is not a hormonal supplement. It is a complete mineral restorer. If it is good for men, it is even better for women, because it works from the root. See shilajit.

Kiwami turns years of fermentation into a digestive enzyme elixir

A Japanese koso enzyme formula, fermented over years from organic fruit and vegetables, and considered one of the purest and most concentrated forms of natural enzymes. It supports the body's digestive and metabolic processes, favouring intestinal balance and helping turn food into energy the body can use. More than a digestive supplement, it is a living elixir from Japanese tradition that nourishes and supports the body day after day. See kiwami.

The re:set kit clears your digestive system in 24 hours

A long fermented Japanese koso enzyme formula, considered the Rolls-Royce of digestive cleanses. It works from the gut, one of the body's main detox channels, clearing waste, mucus and accumulated toxins that block absorption and cellular energy. More than a detox, it is a deep restart of the digestive system that releases, balances and prepares the ground for real regeneration. See re:set.

The be:liver kit supports liver filtration and moves hepatobiliary waste

A protocol designed to support the liver's natural filtration and detox processes. The liver is one of the key organs in the body's internal balance. Be:liver is used after the digestive system has been prepared, supporting the mobilisation and removal of waste built up in the hepatobiliary system, waste that can interfere with metabolism and with your energy. More than a one-off cleanse, it is a deep, supported process that helps restore natural flow and open room for real regeneration. See be:liver.

Ikigen combines every tool across four levels of support

The most complete expression of the bionobo approach, bringing all our tools together to support natural cleaning, digestive balance and the energy you have day to day. It follows a logical sequence inside the body: bowel movement first, then hepatic filtration, with fermented enzymes supporting metabolic balance throughout. IKIGEN has four levels, so you can choose how much support you want at this point in your own process. See ikigen.

Clearing the toxic load changes five things you can feel

This is a protocol of release, designed to make space, to let go of what is blocking you, and to let your energy flow clearly again. It is not only about cleaning. It is about recovering the ability to feel and to listen to your body, and returning to a state where the body is not saturated, so life is experienced with more presence, more clarity and more connection.

Stop just surviving and start truly living.

  • Your toxic load drops gradually. The protocol helps the body remove heavy metals, pesticides and hormone disruptors that interfere with endocrine balance.
  • Hormones rebalance naturally. As toxicity falls and liver function improves, the body recovers its ability to regulate hormones without outside interference.
  • Cells rehydrate and remineralise. Essential minerals such as magnesium, zinc and silica, lost over the years or through depleted soils, are restored.
  • The nervous system calms and sleep improves. A deep detox supports rest and emotional stability, and reduces hot flushes and anxiety.
  • You reconnect with your body. More than cleaning, this is a process of reconnecting with your biology, your natural rhythm and the new energy that emerges at this stage.

Four questions come up before most people start

Can you do the re:set and be:liver kits separately?

The ideal case. For the greatest benefit, run them in sequence: re:set first, then be:liver. Move straight from the release day of re:set to the start of be:liver the next day, that is, the second day after taking re:set. Through this process you take only the enzymes from both kits for around 72 hours, the body enters a deep state of detox, and although intake is low, the enzymes and fibre provide enough nourishment. It is the ideal moment for a retreat at home, with less stimulation and more listening.

If you cannot run them back to back. You can separate them by several days or even a week. Keep your food light and clean, avoid processed food, fried food and seed oils, and space them out, for example one weekend and the next, or two weeks apart. On the days in between, take kiwami and eat light, organic, enzyme-rich food with nothing processed.

Be:liver on its own. You can do it separately if your digestion already moves well. For the greatest benefit, though, it will always be more effective after re:set.

Can you eat solid food during the protocol?

For the greatest benefit, the ideal is to run the protocol without solid food, as a fast guided by fermented enzymes. Through those days the body stops focusing on digestion and moves into a different state: cleaning, regenerating and releasing. The longer you stay without solids, the deeper the work goes, because the energy normally spent on digestion is redirected to detox.

You can take kiwami before, during and after the protocol, which creates the internal conditions where enzymes work more efficiently. If at any point you need to eat, listen to your body. You can always bring in fruit occasionally. It will make the process easier to handle, though it will also make the cleanse less deep. The point is not to do it perfectly. It is to create enough space for the body to do what it already knows how to do. Less digestion, more cleaning.

Can you do the protocol on medication, while ill, pregnant or breastfeeding?

The protocol is built on enzymes and natural compounds, with a gentle approach that respects the body. That said, it mobilises toxins and activates detox mechanisms, so while it is a safe protocol for healthy people, some situations call for caution. If you are on medication, live with a condition, or have any doubt about your own case, we always recommend speaking to your doctor or specialist before you begin. It is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. If you want more personal guidance, write to us and we will gladly help you weigh up your situation.

Should you expect to feel unwell during the protocol?

Yes, some discomfort is possible and likely, though it does not happen to everyone. This is a deep detox. It does not only mobilise accumulated toxins, it also interrupts patterns the body is used to: coffee, sugar, carbohydrates and other stimuli that in many cases create a degree of dependence. When you stop taking them, the body can react.

You may feel tired, temporarily bloated, a little gassy, headachy, empty, or in more need of rest. In some cases, though it is not the norm, these symptoms are stronger for a day or two. That is not a failure and not a sign that something is wrong. It is part of the process. The body is letting go, not only of physical load but of what has been held for years: toxins, but also tension, memory and, in many cases, emotional content.

Deeper sensations can surface when hepatic flow is activated in particular. The liver does not only process substances, it is also closely tied to emotional regulation. So this protocol is not only physical. It is a release on several levels, and understanding that changes the experience. The aim is not to avoid it but to accompany it. Give yourself space. Breathe deeply, meditate and let the nervous system settle. Slow the pace down. Above all, respect the integration phase after the protocol, because letting go of decades of accumulation takes a process, and that process is itself part of the change.
